SERVICE DESCRIPTION

As a member of this team, you will arrive by 3:30 to start the hot water and coffee makers. You will restock supplies, set up the beverage area, and prepare cookies/snacks to go out. You will grind coffee, refill ice containers, and do other prep work for the following week. You will email the office staff with any supplies that we are running low on. You will check in throughout worship and coffee break time to keep the area tidy and check supply levels.  After the service concludes, you will pack away all of our supplies and clean the kitchen areas used by the team.

This area of ministry is nice as it does not require you to miss out on the sermon on the weeks that you are serving. It is also appealing to introverts and extroverts alike. If socialization is hard for you, there is not a lot required. One person serves on their own each shift. However, other ministries are prepping during your prep time, which allows for one-on-one conversations while you work. If you are more outgoing, your tasks are largely completed by 4:30 PM which allows you time to jump into conversations as other people arrive.

Calvary purchases all supplies needed for this area of ministry. You are never expected to provide anything other than a willing heart and helping hands. However, some people who are drawn to this ministry are naturally hospitable. There is a lot of room available for those who would like to bring baked goods or other snacks for the congregation to enjoy.

Occasionally, we will reach out to the refreshments team to ask for help with other special events. These are not required of you, but we welcome the help for things like potlucks, holiday celebrations, retreats, etc.
