Detailed Description
SERVICE DESCRIPTION
As a member of this team, your primary responsibility is to direct traffic in the parking lot. On the weeks you are set to serve, you will dawn a reflective vest and special flashlight, then head outside--rain, snow, or even on the rare sunshining day. Service goes through Worship until most of the congregation has finished trickling in.
The GVBC parking lot has a limited amount of space, but it is also unmarked, making it easy to double park. As our church grows, this has become an increasingly challenging issue to navigate.
Members of this team are the first faces seen by our congregation and visitors alike. They must conduct their responsibilities with welcoming smiles and patience, while also being bold enough to correct parking errors with kindness.
This team is especially good for introverts or those who don't mind being independent. It's also essential that volunteers are willing to be outside in the rain, in the snow, in the dark, or occassionally in the sunshine.
The heart of this ministry...
The Parking Team is literally the first set of faces seen by those visiting our church. While this team's goal is to help our congregation navigate the parking lot with safety while carefully utilizing the space available to us, they do so with welcoming smiles and lots of patience. This team is great for introverts and those who are tough enough to weather the elements!
