Detailed Description
The Greeting Team
Arrival Time: 4:30 PM
Finish Time: After worship concludes
Service Description
The greeting team's responsibilities are quite simple. As a part of this team, you will greet each person as they arrive at the church. You will give them a bulletin and hold the door open for them. If they seem confused or have any questions, you will direct them to the Connections Table Team for further instruction.
While the process is simple and there’s no training needed, it’s very important that members of this team come with the right heart. You should be kind, approachable, and welcoming. As a greeter, the people who enter our doors will see you as a reflection of our church as a whole. Their experience with you will color how they see Jesus displayed in our body. It’s a big responsibility, but a joyful area of ministry that really allows you a moment to shine into the lives of others.
The Connections Table Team
Arrival Time: 4 PM
Finish Time: After clean-up, usually 15 minutes after service concludes
Other Requirements: A background check
Service Description
The Connections Table team is essential to helping people get connected to life at Calvary. As a member of this team, you will start by setting up the pager tables and a resource table with information about our church and community events. Some weeks the bulk of your responsibilities will be to check in our children, hand out pagers to parents, and take a total count of people in attendance. Other weeks you will answer questions about events, and you will give new families a quick tour of where classrooms are located or introduce them to the Kids Ministry leader. You will help with sign-ups, and generally being a source of information for the various goings-on at Calvary. After the sermon concludes, you will pack up the table, track down paging units, and be finished up in time to enjoy a post-sermon chat.
This team has several items on it’s weekly checklist, but more important is the love you pour out on those you interact with. It’s very important to be kind and approachable. When people are new to Calvary, you may be their primary interaction. As people settle into the life and rhythm of Calvary, it is important that you remember their faces, take time to learn their names, and otherwise help them feel seen and welcomed.
The heart of this ministry...
The Connections Team make up the faces that people first see when visiting our church. The heart of this team is to help each person feel seen and welcome, connecting them to the resources necessary to make their visit a good experience. From the first hello, to checking in the children, to helping people sign up to participate in the ministries of Calvary, this team is really a reflection of the heartbeat of Calvary.
The Connections Team consists of two departments: the Greeting Team and the Connections Table Team. Members can choose one department or be cross-trained across both.
